Hi my name is Denise Hardy and I love everything in connection with the home i.e. Interior Design, Hand Painting Furniture, Decorative Painting Techniques and Art.

I live in Alicante, Spain with my husband in a beautiful villa which we both love and work hard on making it our home.  I have been established in creating beautiful homes since 1998 and never get tired of doing what I do.

OUR VILLA IN SPAIN

OFFICE

The renovation of our office, fortunately for us did not take too long.  It was just a case of painting the walls, which I painted white and the painting of the office furniture, which you can see was a yellow/green.  We decided to paint it a Dark grey so as to blend in with the Lounge, which is in greys, black and touches of red. The office leads through an archway directly in the Lounge. You will see in the 'after' pictures that I still need to put my curtains up the windows.  The reason they have not been done yet, is because I purchased some new fabric and need to make them up and I haven't had time yet.  You know what it's like I'm sure.

We also had some new sockets put in and had our electricity board updated and replaced.  A little idea I will share with you is that I am thinking about placing a piece of art - with hinges like a door, over the small door that is covering the switches at the moment.  I think this idea will look a lot nicer than it does now.  Don't you?

You may also notice near the Dresser that I painted an umbrella stand to match the Dresser.  As you have to come through our front door which leads to our office and it comes in handy for when it is raining.

I also have a Dresser in here for storage.  It was intially Pine and I painted it in my French Antique Style and once the walls and the furniture was painted I wanted it to be similar in colour to the rest of it.  Therefore I decided to paint it in Annie Sloans Paris Grey, which I think, has turned out very nice and 'blends' in a lot better than the French Antique Style.

As you probably know throughout my site at the moment that I am still in the progress of changing it and you will see that I have not completed the page for the Sun Lounge and the page 'Downstairs Kitchen, Dining and Bar Area' - therefore I cannot make the links to these at the moment.  But... please bear with me and hopefully the new pages will be completed very soon.
